Most organizations list their values as nouns. However, in order for values to have meaning and to have the ability to hold people accountable to them, values must be verbs. Without action, values are just words that many people within an organization struggle with knowing and understanding. In other words, if people do not understand why these values are important or how to implement these values, then they become words on a wall or a phrase in the orientation manual.
